HOPE HAS ARRIVED

Have you ever seen a cuter kitten.  Wide open gray eyes with blue centers. This cat came to us as a stray through the front door one day.  Everyone that looks at her always has the same comment, can I take her home.

She is not much different than the other cats that we see come through our doors every year. We do everything to help all the animals that come to us through no fault of their own.

We have a Spay/Neuter clinic that has been open for 2 years now that help the low income people fix their cats. We have altered over 2400 animals. That is 100 cats a month that we get to help. The money that we receive from the individuals never pays for the service that they get. We lose money monthly on this service but we feel it is so important that we can’t stop or slow down on this mission. Every cat that is fixed is cats that aren’t born into the world of irresponsible pet owners.

So when you think about giving at Christmas please don’t forget your furry ones. Some are looking for a home, while others are looking for help.

We named the little cat Hope cause that is what she gives us. See she was born with no rear feet, but that doesn’t slow her down at all. After you show her to someone the same sentence comes out,” Can I adopt her”. See if you can find it in your heart to help too.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the Staff here at the Shelter, and every hopeful animal that would look good sitting on your couch.

Call Rick if you want to help the Shelter’s number is 577-0151

Thanks,
Rick Johnson

Feline Friends News

114 feral cats were altered. Good Job and thanks to the volunteers for your help.  Without you and the Vets this wouldn't have been possible.

Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon (see http://www.feralcats.com for their yearly schedule of clinics and phone numbers).  Supported by donations only, the FCCO brings its mobile spay/neuter truck to Longview three times per year.  Feline Friends asks for a donation of $30 per cat, and the cats are spayed or neutered, given a rabies shot, other vaccinations, and an ear tip to identify them as having been fixed.  The cats receive high quality care by our local doctors, who donate their time to this lifesaving program.

To donate much-needed funds to this program, checks may be sent to:  Feline Friends,  1105-D 15th Ave., Box 178, Longview, WA  98632.  All monies go to the spay/neuter of feral cats.
