Humane Society Clean Up Date - Volunteers Needed on June 15, 2024!

We’ve got some Spring cleaning to do and we need your help!

On Saturday, June 15, 2024, put on your most rugged work clothes, grab your gloves and lend us a hand.  We’ll start at 10:00 to clean out our store room and barn.  We’re going to:

– Remove items from our store room and move them to a staging area
– Check carriers and crates to make sure they are in good shape
– Break down carriers and stack them for storage
– Remove items from the upstairs area of barn
– Take items to trash/dumpster
– Clean up dog houses

It would also really help if you:

– Can bring work gloves
– Have a truck or trailer we can use to take items to Waste Control for recycling
– Can bring a power washer

Volunteer Opportunities

We offer a variety of volunteer positions with different time commitments.

Please read through our volunteer opportunities to find a position that best suits your interests and schedule, and which you believe you would perform well in.  As a volunteer, you will be required to attend a training class for the position you would like to volunteer in before you can start. Each opportunity in the directory below lists a description, schedule, and qualifications. Volunteers must be 16 to be a dog handler. Under 16 years old may volunteer with the cats. Youth 14-15 may volunteer on on their own during open hours. Youth under 14 must volunteer with a parent or an adult. The adult must also volunteer and is expected to work along side the youth while supervising. Children 6-14 can also volunteer along side a volunteer guardian/adult in the cat areas. Once your application has been submitted our volunteer coordinator will review your application and reach out with your next steps.
